My name is Naomi Wan and I am the new Marketing and Sales intern at Captions. I study International Business and Languages at the Hogeschool Rotterdam and in my final year I have to write a thesis.

While looking for internship vacancies, I quickly came across Capptions. I was immediately interested in the position, as I was specifically looking for a company where I could challenge myself and grow as a business student. It also seemed instructive to work in a different industry. I already did an internship in the travel industry and I really enjoyed it. For my thesis I wanted to try something new and Capptions seemed the perfect match for that.

Mijn ervaring binnen Capptions tot nu toe

This is my second week as an intern. The team welcomed me with open arms! I soon felt comfortable. I have already learned a lot about marketing. My supervisor has given me access to training courses and has already told me a lot about the working method of Capptions. She took the time to sit with me and explain the reasons they chose certain marketing strategies.

I am still fairly new to Capptions, but I can already say that it is an instructive internship. I already have some experience in marketing and sales which is why I'm curious to see how Capptions works when it comes to these departments and how much I can learn from them.

It's a completely new industry and a new market compared to my other internship company, meaning their approach to digital marketing will be completely different from what I'm used to. So, I'm really looking forward to learning more about the B2B world and how Capptions sell their EHS software solution.

Bachelor scriptie

For my thesis, I have to research a management problem of the company. Capptions is a small but very successful SaaS company. They have many domestic and foreign customers, but it is difficult for them to identify where most of their potential customers are in these markets. This is because of the wide variety of customers they serve.

My thesis will focus on how Capptions can enter a new market and with which marketing strategy. I have already done some preliminary research and I have decided to limit my thesis to the German market. Because Captions has the most potential to be successful in Germany. With the help of my college and my supervisor, I hope to write a thesis that adds real value to the company.

Wat meer over mijzelf

I am 21 years old and I was born in the Netherlands. I was raised bilingual, speaking both Dutch and Cantonese, since my parents are from Hong Kong. When I was little I loved to dance, especially hip-hop and street dance. I liked it so much that I eventually started volunteering by teaching dance workshops to young children. I did this until I had to move for my studies.

During my studies, I had the wonderful opportunity to live in Australia and Spain for six months. It was honestly one of the best things I've ever done. I've always liked traveling. When I lived abroad, I discovered many new places and gained many new experiences.

One of my fondest memories is my first time skydiving. It was very spontaneous, but it was really cool! There are still many new places I would like to visit and things I still want to do. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for me and where my career will take me.

For now I am looking forward to the coming months at Capptions and especially to my graduation.
