Aboma is a Dutch institute for safety in construction and vertical transport, cranes, hoists and lifting equipment, working since 1960 through consultancy, inspections and certification. Heembouw is a design-and-build contractor with its own architects, building offices, industrial space and housing since 1939. On a live construction site, the mix of subcontractors, work at height and heavy lifting means a site that was compliant yesterday isn't today, so safety needs recurring, standardised, comparable inspections, not a binder of separate procedures.
The answer was the Aboma Check App, built on Capptions. It lets Heembouw run safety inspections using Aboma's own methodology, capturing data on the spot instead of on paper, so the expertise of the advisor and the daily reality of the builder finally sit in the same system.
In practice that means the app handles more than 3,000 inspections a year, turning scattered site checks into structured, analysable safety data. Unsafe situations surface early enough to act on, and Heembouw gets to build a safety-first culture on evidence rather than gut feel, with workplace inspections lined up to move into the same app next.
